The Embassy held a successful exhibit entitled Philippine Weave: Design and Form (Hiblang Filipino: Dibuho at Anyo) on 9 June 2011 at the Four Seasons Hotel, together with the Embassy’s diplomatic reception to celebrate the 113th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.
The exhibit consisted of 15 selected images of indigenous textile from the textile collection of the National Museum mounted on 160cm x 70cm future boards. It was well received by the guests who took turns in taking pictures of the exhibit. The exhibit increased awareness on Philippine indigenous fabrics and the craftmanship of Filipino weavers.
